May goals update...

Here is a recap of my goals for May 2013...

  1. Purchase a invisible part wig ( her name is Stacy and I love her)
  2. Keep real hair braided for 2 weeks at a time(to cut down on manipulation) (check)
  3. Shampoo and deep condition hair every 2 weeks (check)
  4. Use MN mix on scalp every night (did not do at all, maybe next time)
  5. Use up my treseme conditioner (cowashes) ( did not do at all still working on getting rid off)
  6. Dink 2 liters of water ( I drank 1 liter of water for the whole month, pretty sad right)
  7. Take multivitamins daily ( I was off and on need to work at it)

Numbers 1-3 was a piece of cake, everything else just falls apart.. next month will be better.

New lace wig

My new wig is tailbone length and I love it. I have been keeping my hair under the wig moisturized with s-curl and grape seed oil for 2 weeks at a time before taking out my braids to wash my hair. a new thing I have been doing now is washing every 2 weeks with the vo5 clarifying shampoo. Yes, it works well. every 2 weeks I start with freshly washed super clean hair and new braids. this method has decreased breakage from manipulation big time. Pics are soon on the way...

New blog... its been a whole week!

I know I have been gone a few days from this blog but I am back now. I was so wrapped up into going to work  that by the end of my day I'm to tired to update my blog. So, here is what's been going on with my hair...
  • I still wear my wig, its getting stiff now think I am going to purchase a new one tomorrow to change up my look.
  • I keep my hair braided under my wig for 2 weeks ( today I took out my 2 braids when I got home from work and put my hair in a high bun for bed, I just missed my hair)
  • I wash my hair every 2 weeks now and air dry
  • and I moisturize and seal every Sunday. The weather has gotten warmer now so I don't need to moisturize as often which is good
  • I did a unofficial length check and some of my hairs pass the seven line on my t-shirt but I wont know for sure unless I relax or flat iron my hair which won't happen until august)
  • I have not used heat and don't plan on using heat until my 1 year anniversary!!!!! ( 3 months away)
  • I have not purchased any new hair products (which is a plus)

3 inches away from BSL?

Wow, after washing my hair and doing a quick unofficial length check I have discovered I am only 3 full inches from BSL. This is good news to know that I am so close, but the sad news is that I am only 3 months away from my 1 year anniversary, sooo unless I can retain 1 inch a month I don't think I will make my BSL goal. I am still keeping my hopes high though. Here is what I plan on doing for the next 3 months...

  1. wash and deep condition every 2 weeks
  2. only use comb on wash days
  3. take my multivitamins/ iron/ and biotin tablets daily
  4. drink more water daily (I have been slacking)
  5. moisturize hair on Sundays only (heavy to last for a week it is in braids under my wig)
  6. oil scalp when needed (don't want to make my hair too greasy because I am washing every 2 weeks now)
  7. NO HEAT AT ALL!!!!!!! (for the entire 3 months)
Yay!!!!

3 months away from my 1 year anniversary!

I cant believe I am so close to my 1 year anniversary. This is exciting. My goal was to be grazing BSL by the time I reach my 1 year and I am still sticking to it even though it don't look like I  will. I am praying that I hit a growth sprit because it is now warmer out so my hair should be less dry. Like I said I plan to reach BSL by my 1 year and that is on August 5th. I have never been bra strap length in my whole entire life, so it would be a new thing for me. currently I am APL so I believe it can be done but we will see...

I have made it!

ONE OF MY NEW GOAL WAS TO WAIT 2 WEEKS BEFORE WASHING MY HAIR JUST TO CUT DOWN ON MANIPULATION. WELL, I DID IT. I WASH  MY HAIR TODAY AND NEVER FELT HAPPIER BECAUSE I KNOW ONCE THE WATER HIT MY SCALP IT WILL BE AN INSTANT RELAXING FEELING. SO FAR I STILL AM WEARING MY INVISIBLE PART WIG AND LIKE IT. I HAVE WORN IT EVERYDAY SINCE I PURCHASED IT AND WONDER IF IT WILL MAKE IT TO THE END OF THIS MONTH BEFORE I NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE. I HAVE NOT TOUCHED MY HAIR IN 2 WEEKS SO I AM SURE THAT MY RESULTS WILL SHOW POSITIVE, WEARING THE WIG IS MUCH BETTER THAN A SEW-IN WEAVE BECAUSE I HAVE ACCESS TO MY HAIR WHICH I LOVE.

APRIL GOALS UPDATE!

So, these where my goals:

1. Deep condition once a week (for the first 2 weeks)

2. Install a weave (wear for 6 weeks) (lasted for 3 weeks... I tried lol)

3. Moisturize scalp every other day (when I found the time)

4. Use up 2 hair products (I really want to get rid of all the products I don't need)

I tried but school took over this time and I didn't get to attack like I wanted to. I managed to use up my creame of nature conditioner and the growth aid hairadrenalin, I don't know if it worked or not and to be honest I really don't care as long as my hair is healthy and didn't fall out. I manage to moisturize as much as I could before the installment but after my moisturizing schedule changed to when ever I could that wont cause my weave to get weighed down.

I hope I master the next set of goals...

Weave Fail!

It has been 3 weeks and I have removed my installment. There were several reasons that drove me to this...

  1. The weave had lost the curls I like after 2 washes
  2. I couldn't get to my hair
  3. I missed my hair
  4. The weave would tangle in the back
  5. It started to get hot and annoying since the weather has now warmed up
  6. I missed deep conditioning my entire head (every inch)
when I removed the hair the first thing I grabbed was my deep conditioner and completely saturated my hair. I was happy that I was able to keep my hands out of my hair for the 3 weeks that I did, it wasn't much but it was something. there was a good bit of shedding also which I was a little surprised at first but then realized that it was expected. I do not regret getting weave at all. when I wash my hair In the morning I will try and do a mini length check to see if in the 3 weeks time  do any of my hair reached the seven line on my shirt. this is how I will know for sure that I am still in progress to make it to line 10 (grazing BSL) by august. (please no set backs!)
