My hair care process!!

  1. Do not wash hair with shampoo
  2. Wash hair in braids using conditioner
  3. Do not use a comb to detangle hair (only fingers)
  4. GHE every night with scurl or water, and an oil
  5. Deep condition with protein 1 x ever 2 weeks ( twice a month)
  6. Wear protective style weave, crochet braids or wigs
This has been my regime for 2 months now and I see the difference. low low manipulation works for me so washing in the braids, finger detangling and not having my hair out is the best way for me to grow hair... I am learning.

update!!

Okay... I have fell off my hair journey because I was so focused on school and work but why not be successful in all the things that I care about so with that said I am back on it. I have ordered a new wig and I have ordered a new deep conditioner. I read reviews on youtube and decided that it is about time to find my conditioner that turns my new growth into butter and what i selected may just do that. It has been so hard and I have tried many different conditioner, some would work for a little while, and others where just complete fails.

Hair Routine until August (2 year HHJ mark)

DC 2x a week
GHE every night
NO relaxer No trim No heat!
Take multivitamins daily
Wild growth oil every day on scalp at night
Moisturize and seal as needed
Wear my wigs!!!

I feel like I will be proving my hair with enough moisture that moisturizing daily is not necessary. The 2x a week DC should transform my hair in a good way so I cant wait for my new conditioner to arrive in the mail. There will be a review in a few days after a couple of uses.

I really don't understand why it is taking me 2 years to grow to BSL from shoulder length hair. It is really frustrating.

Change in regime!

I am not getting the results that I want bottom line. So, I have decided to change my regime again. I feel as though that my hair is not as healthy as I thought it was. I will be using the aphogee shampoo which I love to keep the moisture in, followed by deep conditioning with the mega growth deep conditioner with heat (I have heard great things about this conditioner), and then apply my aphogee leave in and let my hair air dry( this is a new product for my stash I hope I like it.) and lastly I plan to moisturize and seal my ends daily with my beloved triple moisture and coconut oil. that is my new regimen and I plan to do this until all of my products run out by that time my hair should look and feel better.

*I will switch back to the old school days when I would shampoo first and then deep condition. I never had a problem with hair growth when I did it that way only a problem with retaining my ends (I never knew about M&S in those days). I am praying that keeping the simple order of a weekly shampoo, deep condition, leave-in, moisturize and seal would give me the desired results I want.

* no hot oil treatment in this regime. I did not see any spectacular results from my weekly hot oil treatments with almond oil, it just used up my oil faster then desired.

* This month is my last wig of my 4 month wig challenge. A length check will be soon up end of this month... I don't know if I will continue until my 2 year hair growth anniversary which is in August of this year (5 months away!)

My wash day!

So, I did a hot oil treatment yesterday with almond oil (I like the stuff so far) under the hooded dryer and then deep conditioned over night with the oil and  creme of nature conditioner in my hair. I shampooed it out today with the creme of nature shampoo, and applied my V05 conditioner for quick conditioning. Once done I t-shirt dried my hair, applied the apogee leave in spray in the four sections, finger detangled, then added a little Aussie moist conditioner and almond oil to detangle with my comb. When finished with that I applied castor oil to my scalp massaged it in and applied a little to my ends and twisted each section, tied with my bonnet and ready for bed.

I have been faithfully wearing my 1/2 wigs so I am on track with that. I have been keeping up with my hot oils and my deep conditioning as you can see. Now, these past few weeks I have been feeling like I have not been seeing much growth in my hair and tomorrow makes 1 year and 1/2 on this journey. I decided to take a quick peep of what I am working with since I haven't really checked and here are the pictures.

I am currently 6 weeks post with a lot of new growth, which could be from me drinking so much water, doing the inversion method, taking 10,000 mcg of biotin, my multivitamins, and my iron tablets were added to the mix not to mention a few days of the GHE was done as well. So, my hair is not stretched to the maximum which makes me happy because I may actually make it to BSL this year which is number 11 on my shirt. The picture shows I am at number 7, and that's with out relaxed roots so I am very hopeful at this point. My birthday is in April and that's how long I plan to wear my wigs.

Goal: get to # 11 on my shirt by April I would be so happy, you have no idea.

Have to add back to my regimen coconut oil. The only oil that soften my hair like no bodies business!!

My Wash Day!

Today was wash day.... and here is what I did and what I used!

  1. I sectioned my hair into 2 halves down the middle and applied 100% almond oil on roots and tips, and finger detangled.
  2. Applied more almond oil to saturate then sat under the hood dryer on high for 5 minutes
  3. Once finished I applied my deep conditioner from creme of nature saturated my hair with it and sat under the dryer for another 5 minutes.
  4. Got in shower to rinse and detangled (hair felt like butter).
  5. Applied my creme of nature shampoo only on roots and messaged my scalp twice on each side (hair still divided in half down the middle).
  6. towel dried for 5 minutes
  7. Applied my aphogee leave in keratin spray
  8. Applied my tresemme heat protectant and blew dried my roots (learning that I loose less hair when my roots are stretched)
  9. Applied my elasta QP mango butter moisturizer, and sealed with 100% almond oil
  10. Parted my leave out and braided my 2 sections in to pigtails to which I cross wrapped the ends and pinned them on the sides of my head.
  11. Applied my wig cap and wig Yasmine by outre (3 weeks I plan on wearing her before I switch)

Then I hit the Streets!!!!

BLACK TEA RINSE UPDATE

I am desperate to decrease the shedding to keep more hair on my head for a longer time period and decided to do this by adding black tea rinses to my routine. Well about 2 nights ago I did an overnight black tea rinse with aussie moist 3 minute miracle on top with a plastic cap, my statin head scarf, and my bonnet. When I woke up the next morning I hopped in the shower rinsed it out, shampooed, conditioned, rinsed again and towel dried my hair. Next I added my leave-ins and moisturized using the loc method than braided my hair into 2 plats for my wig.... long story short my shedding has not decreased one bit.

This experiment shall continue

First tea rinse

So, I applied the black tea after a prepoo with coconut oil and a shampoo. Then applied conditioner on top of the tea and let sit in my hair for about 10-15 minutes while in the shower. I rinsed it out and t shirt dried, added my leave-ins, and did the loc method to detangle and twisted In four sections.

My hair is air drying rough and I lost a crap load of hair while detangling So, I don't know what to make of this.

LOC method for relaxed hair?

So, I have been trying the loc method to see if my hair will hold moisture longer and to be honest I don't think it makes a difference to my hair. I used the loc method and attempted a braid out and my hair was dry by the end of the day sooo, what do that tell you?

I shall continue to do it to see if variations of it will make a difference. Currently my L is water, My O is coconut oil, and my C is the Jane Caters nourishing cream.

Black Tea rinse?

I went to the dollar store and stocked up on English breakfast black tea. I what to keep the fullness in my hair and if that means I have to decrease shedding to do it so be it. I have made my first brew and I will let it steep for 24 to 48 hours before I use it in my hair. I plan on applying it with a spray bottle on damp hair and than conditioning over it and applying a plastic cap.
This process will happen once a week for 8 weeks, I only have 40 bags.

Wash day 2 weeks post!

I am happy to wash my hair today it felt so good. I saw that I had a bit of product build up and I needed to fix that situations quick. It has been 7 days since my last cowash, and 12 days since I used shampoo ( last time was when I relaxed on the 4th) so it was about time.

I change my routine a bit out of laziness but I still like the results. usually I would deep condition overnight the night before I want to shampoo my hair, this time I didn't do that. I simply woke up shampooed my hair and conditioned in the shower for about 5 minutes than rinsed and t shirt dried. Once most of the water was out of my hair I used 2 new products and I am in love because of the way my hair felt once both products was distributed evenly.

Now, this is my first time using these products so later I will give more details on how my hair holds up with these products added to my hair care routine. Right now I like them both together and I don't think I want to try them separate.

I than moisturized my hair with beautiful textures moisture butter and sealed with coconut oil (just a little) this product is also new to me but I didn't buy it I stole some from my sister. If I like it I will go out and purchase this product for myself, so far I love the smell of it and my hair is soft.

I am currently air drying and my hair feels soooo soft.. Yay!

It has been five days...

wow, I have been enjoying my straight hair and not doing my regular routines. It has been 5 days and I have not washed or deep conditioned my hair since I relaxed it... It is time. To start this off I am going to deep condition overnight with protein conditioners and cowash in the morning with aussie moist conditioner, air dry and than bun. Good thing it is to hot to wear my hair down anyway. I am truly thinking about weaving my hair again but we shall see how long these thoughts will last in my head.

Cross wrap!

This was my first attempt to cross wrap back in February and I am not going to lie it is less manipulation and easy to do when compared to the traditional wrap hair around ones head. This is going to be my new night routine when I relax my hair in august, to help maintain my straight hair longer.

My bun regimen...

I have found that taking down and putting up a bun daily is just to much work and strain on my hair so I simply don't do it. I leave my bun in for 3 days if it is my real hair, and 5 days if it is a weaved bun.

Bunning my real hair:
  1. Leave in for 3 days
  2. Moisturize and seal my hair a great deal before so that it can last the 3 days
  3. Never use a comb to make bun always use my bare hands
  4. 3rd day I take down my bun moisturize and seal and put it back up in a different position then before.
Bunning with weave braiding hair:
  1. Leave in for 5 days
  2. Moisturize and seal a great deal before to last the 5 days
  3. Take down and cowash/ shampoo  hair then choose another style to place my hair in
