Washed my hair for the second time and blew it dry half way, air dried the rest and I feel the curls have dropped once again... soon I will have nothing but straight hair by the time I am ready to take out this install. I don't know if I can make it to 6 weeks. I miss my hair so much but I will try to get there.

My braid pattern!!
When I braid my hair I like to just keep it simple. I braid medium in some areas and small in others. when you are wearing curly hair it is not about the braids just make sure they are tight enough is all you need to do here is a peek of what's going on under my weave.

Install update!
I have been focusing on school and did not get a chance to update on my install. I washed it for the first time on Sunday 4/21/13 and now have a completely different curl pattern. when I washed it I did not deep condition but I did prepoo. It is a bit difficult trying to get to my scalp to care for my hair, this is why I like wigs because u can just take them off if needed.
I like the new wave pattern but I miss the beginning curl pattern I started with. I am experiencing a lot of tangling in the back but not much shedding. I like the hair hate the tangles. I miss playing in my hair I can not wait until I take this weave out and have 7 days of fun with my real hair before reinstalling a new look.

7 exams in 14 days of school
Yes, we have finally come to an end. 14 days of school left and 7 exams to pass. My brain is worked to the core. I cant even think about anything else but doing well on all 7 of my exams. I am suprised that I am even writing this blog. At this point I feel as though I am in the middle of a battle and boy I cant wait to stop fighting. For the next 2 weeks I will not update on this blog because my school has now officially consummed me. See you when I make it out of the fog blog world.

1 year sew-in/ wig challenge!!!
So, because I think I look just sooo cute in my weave I feel like wearing weave a little longer then the 2 installs I planned on getting this year. Today (My Birthday) marks the beginning of my 1 year sew-in weave challenge I have created for myself to reach my goal without having my hands constantly in my hair. April 2013 to April 2014. During this time period I plan to reach BSB, BSL, and grazing MBL... I believe it is possible.
I plan to:
I plan to:
- Do everything I posted in my weave regimen
- Keep hair and scalp clean
- Use growth aids along with the weave challenge (to maximize growth)
- Take vitamins daily (don't miss a day!)
- Drink water daily
Update 6/9/13... I only wore this sew-in for 3 weeks took it down purchased a invisible part curly wig and wore that for 4 weeks, than took it down, purchased an invisible part lace wig and wore that for 4 weeks.... it has been 11 weeks since I wore my hair out and I am proud of myself. The sew-in thing was suppose to last me 6 weeks but I don't know if I like it to last that long I missed my hair so much for that 3 weeks it lasted maybe next sew-in I will bite the bullet and go a full 6 weeks.
New found love...
So, I told myself that I was going to no longer purchase hair products until I use up at least 3 more products and guess what I couldn't help myself. I purchases a small bottle of glycerin. Let me just say I love it. I currently have a sew-in and I put it on my leave out it really keeps my leave out in a great moisturized state without being greasy, stiff or flat...and I am talking all day moisture. So, then I started to experiment and I put some in my aveeno lotion and when I say my skin and face feels soooo soft I mean it. Glycerin is a plus for me!!!!! adding to me staple products.

LOOKING GOOD... NEW INSTALL!
Yes, yes, yes, it has been installed my 14" and 12" weave. It only took 2 packs and I am happy with the results. So my 6 weeks began now. I already posted a weave regimen and I plan to stuck to it.... This is only 1 out of 2 installs I plan to get then I will relax my hair again and length check..... My goal is to make it to line #8 or 9 I will take whatever I can get at this point and to also thicken up my hair. I want all of my hair to reach almost the same area which is what would give me a more fuller look... I hate having some extremely short pieces and some extremely long pieces scattered all over my head.

Progress!.....
This is why it is important to take pictures to document how your growth is coming along. I didn't even know that I had retained so much length in the front of my head jeeez, I am happy! Please, check out my picture from February to April.

My Vitamins and Minerals
Sooooo, I am down to what works for me. My multivitamin, biotin, and iron. No more vitamin purchases for me. I started taking the multivitamin because I needed more energy and the iron because I was anemic but realizes that not only did I get the energy I also received healthy nails... which is a plus since I love my hands. Anything that happens to your nails happens to your hair because there both made of the same material... I didn't see any changes in the exact hair strands but I do not shed much so hey something is happening. I plan to continue my one pill of each a day regimen until I run out of all three. It should take me about 3 months to empty all 3 bottles.... pretty much my whole summer break.

20 days to go...
I believe I have now become addicted to counting. I count everything from how many days I have left to relax my hair, to how much money I spend on hair products, to how many days left in this semester (20 days!). I can not wait until I am in the last week just exams, exams, exams and then summer... I shall keep you guys posted.
It is crunch time!!!!!
My weave regimen... 12 weeks application (2 installments)
This is what I plan to do with my weaved hair:
Simple...
- Wash and deep condition once a week
- Moisturize scalp/new growth every other day
- Wear weave for 6 weeks at a time (and no more)
- On the 6th week take down weave and wear hair for one week before reinstalling a new weave

This shirt creation was a great idea!
Talking about something making it easy to track growth progress this takes the cake. I started my journey August 2012 I was both above line one and at line one on the shirt (my hair was uneven). By the time September came around I purchased this shirt trimmed my hair and I was at a line #2. Since than I have grown to now grazing line # 7. From August to April is 8 months, so on average in 8 months I should have seen 4 inches of growth placing me at line # 5 or 5 1/2 if I was lucky. Well, I definitely seen my 4 inches plus more and retained every bit of it, not to mention I self trimmed my hair twice since I started my journey. Craziness!! If you are on a hair journey like me I recommend making or purchasing a shirt of your own. The great thing about it is u can see what month you grew the most or in what month your hair broke off. So far I have not had any set backs. I do plan on relaxing soon so if I relax and my results take me back to line 5 I know something is up... but I pray that don't happen.

Growth aid first night...
The GHE with my growth aid Went well last night. I can't wait to wash my hair today because my hair is dirty from wearing that weaved bun for a full week. I plan to cowash because I will be relaxing my hair in a few days and want to make sure my scalp is not irritated from the shampoo use. I plan on blow drying and flat ironing today as well just to get my length results from this hide your hair challenge I was apart of. Than weave will be installed 2 days later which I plan to wear for 6 weeks.
I will only apply my growth aid at night to my scalp and rub in. I will not GHE every night with the weave I do not want my braids under the weave to be wet. I shall include my length check in another post.
Stick around...

New addition!
Received in the mail and applied my growth aid (hairdrenalin) to my scalp and rubbed it in very well today. I hate the smell, but anyway I applied a plastic cap a hair scarf and a satin bonnet and ready for bed. I quickly did a measurement of my hair (unofficial) and I believe I have made it to line 7 or at least grazing it... this makes me excited because just the other week I was at # 6. Wearing my hair in the same hair style for 1 week without changing it one bit is going to be my new thing I see the benefits of doing this.
Now with this new growth aid I have to figure out how often I will apply it and how to incorporate it into my weaved hair when I get my installment...
hmmm...

Semester countdown continues...
I am up to 24 days left of this semester. The finish line is so close it's almost scary. I cant believe that after this semester I just have 1 more 15 weeks semester to go and I will be a graduated student nurse. It makes me jump for joy in my skin everytime I think of it. Wow, never thought that this year would be the year that the only career goal I want would actually be completed. There is a god as far as I am conserned.
Blessed...

My bun regimen...
I have found that taking down and putting up a bun daily is just to much work and strain on my hair so I simply don't do it. I leave my bun in for 3 days if it is my real hair, and 5 days if it is a weaved bun.
Bunning my real hair:
Bunning my real hair:
- Leave in for 3 days
- Moisturize and seal my hair a great deal before so that it can last the 3 days
- Never use a comb to make bun always use my bare hands
- 3rd day I take down my bun moisturize and seal and put it back up in a different position then before.
- Leave in for 5 days
- Moisturize and seal a great deal before to last the 5 days
- Take down and cowash/ shampoo hair then choose another style to place my hair in

March goals Update!
These were my March goals: (help me to grow to line 7)
1. Moisturize and seal A.M and P.M
2. Where a bun/ updo for the entire month of march
3. Wash hair weekly/ deep condition
4. Do not trim (I did dust my ends this month, I just had to clean things up.)
5.Take hairfinity till finished/ use MN mixture till finished (I have 2 more days of hairfinity and another months worth of my MN mix.)
6. use no heat (unless for deep conditioning under hood dryer)
I have followed through with all of my goals pretty much. I never knew how easy it was to just say you are going to do something and stick to it. I do not know if I made it to line 7 because I plan on relaxing my hair on April 14th, but with all of this great hair care practice I should at least be grazing line 7. I cant wait for the results of my relaxer.

Creative me?
Trying to explore my options. I found some braiding hair in my room and decided that I was going to use it so I created a bun out of it. This is my hairstyle for the next 5 days... keeping it as simple as pie! ( I am lazy).
THE COUNTDOWN!
Officially 29 days left of school. I need the summer to be here now because stress is at an all time high. Projects, exams, homework's, hospital rotations, etc. all need to be in by April 30th. Yes!, my hard work is going to end soon. I am exhausted from isolating myself for the past 4 months and from thinking so much lol. I just need a good party is the moral of this story.
